There is something special that you and I do,
we try to make sure we reserve time for just me and you.
It is referred to as our date night and it is plain to see,
that we really dont want or need any company.

The love we share so special needs tender care,
but to do that we have to make sure no one else is there.
Off into our own lovers world on date night we go,
spending time cuddling so our love will continue to grow.

We always unplug the phone and wont answer the door,
this is our special night and all others we ignore.
It is just you and I alone and completely free,
to fix a lovely dinner and maybe watch a movie.

Sometimes soft music playing in the background,
or maybe going for a quiet drive just around town.
It never has mattered to me what we do,
as long as we take time out for just me and you.

Date night is any night we want it to be,
you should try it yourself and maybe you too will see.
That person you love so much is still right there,
but you need to take the time out to make them aware.

I sometimes wonder if other people do this,
having special moments taking time for a hug or a kiss.
I know we both love it when we are sitting there,
sharing this love of ours built with such tender care.

There is always such a very nice warm feeling inside,
both thankful for our love which we do not want to hide.
